The Gist: Oh Shit Edition

I should be talking about the Cubs big 7-2 win tonight. I should be talking about how we continued our dominance at Wrigley Field. I should be talking about Ryan Dempster's return to his 2000 form.

But I'm not.

The only thing on my mind right now is he loss of Alfonso Soriano.

This morning, I was excited. I never wish any specific harm on anyone, but the fact that Albert Pujols gets a 3 week vacation from playing baseball and Adam Wainwright is on the DL...I thought that the Cubs could finally go on a roll and gain some ground on the Cards in the Central. But not only do the Cards paste Johnny Cueto and the Reds 10-0, but we lose Soriano to a broken hand for at least 6 weeks!

Jeff Bennett is now on my crap list along with Rafael Furcal in the "Guys that physically hurt the Cubs" section. I won't say that I hope he dies per say...

Just keep telling yourself that the Cubs were 9-5 when Soriano was out earlier in the year.

Reed Johnson is moving to left. That means we could see Jim Edmonds a lot more in center (UGH!).

Worst. Day. Ever.
