Poor Man's War Criminal: Fullscreen DVD's

Ugh, just stop. Stop with the fullscreen format DVD's. What simpleton is still buying them? I was at Target yesterday and happened to see "Knocked Up" was on sale for $10. Sweet, I thought. I was wanting to buy that for a while now. So I go to grab one, but.....oh wait, all they have is fullscreen. Jesus.

Who out there is adamantly opposed to widescreen formats? "I don't like those black bars on the top and the bottom, meeehhhhhh!" Really asshole? Well in a few years when all the TV's have a widescreen aspect ratio, those black bars won't necessarily appear on the widescreen DVD's any more, but you'll have some nice ones on the sides of your lame fullscreen version.

Also with fullscreen nearly one third of the movie has been cropped out. Why would you want that? That's like downloading a song, but having a couple instruments omitted from the performance. Asinine.

I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. How many times have you gone to the store and seen a movie on the shelf where the fullscreen version is completely stocked, but the slot next to it, where the widescreen versions go is completely empty? Nobody wants to buy them. If they only did widescreen, stores wouldn't have to give out as many rain checks, or lose potential sales because they sold out so fast..

Bah, I'm finished. Happy Monday assholes. Rockies in 6!
