How did that happen?

Its the weekend, and no one is reading anyway, so I'll gloat about the Dodgers.

Thanks in part to the Cubs and Limpwrist Ted Lilly beating SD, the Dodgers have the best record in the NL at least for one night. The Mets' recent collapse didn't hurt either.

As you could tell from his expression in that picture, Derek Lowe was angry and ready to eat someone's children tonight. Maybe its the fact that he has three complete game losses on the year or maybe his flat chested reporter girlfriend hasn't been giving him enough lovin', but whatever the reason, he was angry and in a zone, striking out 11 Angels, a career high. Juicer and douchebag Gary Matthews Jr went down on strikes three times.

So LA floats to the top of the NL. I'm as shocked as anyone considering the following:

Jason ScHmIdT has missed most of the year and looked terrible when he has played.

105 year old Luis Gonzalez is starting in LF.

They really don't have a 3rd baseman (hardly a new development in LA).

Starting first baseman/war criminal/All-90s SS Nomar Garciaparra has one homerun on the year as I write this. James Loney may have to slip him some pulonium 210 if he wants to play.

Juan Pierre.

Whatever...the pitching is good. I'll take what I can get. Don't forget to vote for Russell Martin for NL catcher. Don't hate because he's Canadian & this graphic is pixelated. Paul LoDuca is too metrosexual to win the starting spot.
