Jerry "The Guitar Man" Reed passed away on Monday from complications arising from emphysema. He is probably best known for his role opposite Burt Reynolds in 'Smokey and the Bandit'. I did a little homework and discovered that he also released over 40 albums and sang the film's theme song 'East Bound and Down'. I'm actually listening to the song right now to draw some inspiration. It's probably not going to make this post any better but it sure as shit makes me want to get up from my desk, grab some jerky and my spitter, hop in the S-10 and start driving south. Wait, no it doesn't. You youngins may also remember him as Coach Red Beaulieu in The Waterboy.
Jerry was 71. 6 points for me. I'm closing the gap, Governor.
