The Gist: Game #10

CUBS 8
CARDS 7

Let's get this straight. You see that guy in the photo? That's our closer. Enough of this Kevin Gregg nonsense, Carlos Marmol is the man that should be taking the mound in the 9th.

Sure he walked his first batter and plunked Pujols, but he managed to keep his cool and mow down Ryan Ludwick before getting Khalil Greene to ground into the game ending double play.

Classic Cubs-Cards game today. Zambrano had a rough outing but still managed to go 7 innings. Hey, you can have Fat Z give up a home run or have a beleaguered and overworked bullpen give up a home run. Pick your poison folks.

Thank God Soriano saved the day. He went from goat to hero in one massive swing.

Fukudome continues to hit like a champ. This is all well and good but I'll feel better if this is still the case in the middle of May as well.

Win or lose, a game with no Neal Cotts appearance is a bonus. He's reached Will Ohman status in my book. No, that's not a good thing.

Tomorrow it's Kyle Lohse vs. Ryan Dempster. The current Cubs players have collectively hit .387 in their career against Lohse. Soriano, Theriot, Lee and Ramirez have all hit him well in the past.

Rockies in 6!
